  • There are a variety of reasons including, but not limited to:

    • Client autonomy | Clients are able to attend therapy for as many sessions as they want, whereas “in-network” therapy can be limited to a particular number of sessions.

    • Client confidentiality | Clients’ medical history and any mental health diagnoses are kept confidential. Being “in-network” would mean that providers have to hand over clients’ confidential treatment information to the insurer.

    • Provider burnout prevention | Being “in-network” would also mean many hours of unpaid paperwork each week leading to provider burnout and a reduction in quality of care.

    • Fair compensation | By not working with insurance carriers, providers receive compensation that reflects their advanced education and specialized training (graduate degree, professional licensure, continuing education, etc). Therapy fees also help cover the costs associated with running a private practice (supervision fees, EHR software, marketing, etc). “In-network” care can limit provider pay.

    Quiet Strength Psychotherapy is an out-of-network provider and aims to offer affordable private pay rates for high quality care. We also offer limited pro bono and sliding scale spots.

  • You can pay with major debit/credit cards and work with Thrizer to discover and easily use any out-of-network mental health benefits you may have through your insurance carrier.

  • I am a private-pay provider. I use Thrizer as my payment platform for private-pay sessions.

    If you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, Thrizer can also help make the OON billing process easier. Through Thrizer, you can check your estimated OON benefits, see an estimated session cost, pay for sessions, and have eligible OON claims submitted for you. If your plan reimburses for OON care, reimbursement is determined by your insurance after the claim is processed. If you are eligible, you may also have the option to pay an estimated upfront amount instead of paying my full session fee and waiting for reimbursement.
